We’d like to thank everyone at Discovery Bay who came to Tai Pak Wan to try out Stand Up Paddle Board with us last month!
Did you have a great time? Let us know in the comment below, and if you have any suggestions for us, don’t hesitate to tell us as well!
For those who are wondering, we’ve held a SUP Fun Day on June 22 at Tai Pak Wan for the Discovery Bay’s Residents! The idea was that we want to provide an opportunity for people who are not familiar with SUP to find out how it’s like to paddle in Hong Kong water.
So we’ve decided to provide a number of SUP boards and Paddles (Safety equipment included of course), together with a few expert professional paddlers, set out to hopefully, teach a thing or two about SUPing in HK to the general public, and to increase public awareness of the SUP sport in HK.
We didn’t know what to expect at first as we’d never done this in Discovery Bay before (We have done this at other locations before like Sai Kung, but never in Lantau Island). But as it turns out, the reception was way better than we expected.
Loads of people from Discovery Bay turn up and were quite enthusiastic about SUP. Needless to say, our professional staff had a great time and were able to share a lot of paddling tips as well as some guidance on how to choose SUP equipment.
Those who came that day got to try out some of the most well known SUP brands in the world, including Molokai, Red Paddle, SIC Maui & 425 Pro. We’d brought a variety of boards and paddles that day including all-round inflatable boards which are best for beginners, as well as professional race boards for a taste of SUP racing.
